Abu Dhabi Police concludes the Global Police Innovation Challenge 2025

Abu Dhabi Police concluded the Global Innovation Competition to sustain the outstanding results of its strategic objectives “crime prevention” and “crime detection”, known as the Global Police Innovation Challenge 2025, which was held in cooperation with EDGE Holding Group, with the participation of 10 startups from different countries around the world, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Austria, and Egypt.

The competition combined the innovation and entrepreneurship system to achieve the leadership’s vision for Abu Dhabi to be a global leader in sustainable security and safety, and to enhance public safety and security challenges through proactive and innovative solutions.


Three distinguished projects were honored in different fields: the Digital Evidence Analysis Project (United States), which uses generative artificial intelligence to help security agencies analyze digital evidence and issue appropriate reports in an automated manner, contributing to accelerating investigations and raising their accuracy. The 3D Digital Twins Project (Austria), which employs artificial intelligence and satellite data to create high-resolution 3D models of maps and field designs, used in security planning and crisis management. The Probabilistic Computing and Quantum Chips Project (United Kingdom), which is an advanced technical innovation based on probabilistic computing and high-speed quantum chips, was specifically developed to improve the distribution of security resources such as cameras and patrols, while achieving savings exceeding 35% in resources and improving the efficiency of security operations.

Brigadier Khalid Abdullah Al Khouri, Director of the Decision Support and Institutional Development Sector at Abu Dhabi Police, confirmed that the challenge is in line with the wise leadership’s commitment to investing in innovation and entrepreneurship, by enabling projects and initiatives that enhance sustainable partnerships with various entities, including start-ups, according to a flexible economic model that meets the needs of society in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.


He pointed out that the advanced level of maturity of institutional innovation in Abu Dhabi Police, and the preservation of police gains, pushes for the continuation of supporting innovators and preparing for the future by adopting advanced technical solutions, and enabling them to achieve sustainable police leadership.


The challenge aims to enhance partnerships with the private sector according to global standards of excellence, and provide sustainable security solutions that contribute to achieving the economic vision of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi 2030.


The competition witnessed a wide turnout, as it received 105 applications, and 46 participants were interviewed, from which 25 were selected, reaching the final stage that included 10 companies that submitted advanced security solutions that support the strategic priority of enhancing security and safety.
