Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office, has launched a Ramadan recipes guide “in collaboration with a group of talented chefs and distinguished restaurants. The guide includes around 40 recipes for a variety of Ramadan dishes, taking into account the diversity of ingredients and cooking methods, inspired by the great diversity that characterizes the Dubai community as a city that seeks to be the best in the world to live, work and visit, as part of the “Ramadan in Dubai” campaign coinciding with the beginning of the holy month.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, the organizing body of the Ramadan in Dubai campaign, expressed her thanks to the chefs and restaurants who are members of the “Proudly from Dubai” initiative, who participated in preparing the guide this year, and for their cooperation in including a group of recipes for dishes that are in line with the atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan, in accordance with the customs and traditions of the community on this occasion, and with the unique global reputation of the restaurant sector in Dubai due to its great diversity that matches the city’s wide-ranging cultural diversity.


She said: “Through the guide, we seek to shed light on successful projects that were launched and developed from Dubai, and to introduce chefs who have proven their success in this field and celebrate their successes... This is within the framework of our ongoing work to highlight the success stories of start-ups and small and medium-sized companies founded by entrepreneurs from Dubai.”


She added: “We are pleased that among the chefs participating in preparing this guide are 4 Emirati chefs. We hope that the guide will be an opportunity to introduce them and their distinguished work on a broader scale, and support their journey to success, reaching the world from Dubai, as we seek to provide all possible assistance to promote local start-ups and ambitious entrepreneurs who are members of the Proudly from Dubai initiative.”


For her part, Khawla Al Hashemi, member of the organizing committee of the Ramadan campaign in Dubai, said: “This year, we also welcome the participation of six chefs from the region and the world, and the guide celebrates 10 restaurants whose products are very popular with different nationalities, and they offer distinctive dishes inspired by diverse cuisines from around the world, with oriental touches that suit the Ramadan atmosphere, and cater to different tastes and ages.”


The recipes in the Ramadan guide are presented by Emirati chefs Faisal Nasser, Mohammed Issa, Sultan Qaid, and Abdul Aziz Ahmed, in addition to six chefs from the region and the world, namely: Ali Yazdi, Yara Al Masry, Hala Ayash, Afnan Al Ameer, Kofim Sharma, and Rene Ignacio. The list of participating restaurants in the guide includes: Villa 515, The Lighthouse, Dining Boutique, Saddle, Tanour, Osteria Funcolio, John & Co Bakery, Mamafray, Quince Restaurants & Café, and Steak on Me.


The new guide includes recipes for healthy meals and many delicious main and side dishes that are easy to prepare and suitable for the holy month of Ramadan from ten chefs who have selected a group of their most popular recipes to include in this guide. They include a variety of salads, meat and chicken dishes, seafood, in addition to baked goods, oriental and western desserts, cakes and pies, with recipes inspired by Arabic cuisine, as well as many recipes that are famous in Emirati and Gulf cuisine, rich in its ingredients and distinctive popular dishes.
