"Community Empowerment" Empowers Citizens to Enhance Their Quality of Life for 2025

The Ministry of Community Empowerment announced the extension of the Inflation Allowances Program for 2025, with a total budget of AED 3.5 billion, as part of the UAE's ongoing efforts to support the most needy citizens and enhance their quality of life in light of various economic and social developments.

This came during a media briefing organized by the UAE Government Media Office, to review the objectives and details of the Inflation Allowances Program.

Her Excellency Shamma bint Suhail bin Faris Al Mazrui, Minister of Community Empowerment, explained during the media briefing that a comprehensive development study will be conducted in the coming period, aiming to periodically update the eligibility criteria and the mechanism for calculating allowances in line with national priorities, taking into account changing economic conditions, inflation indicators, and the cost of living, and focusing on the most deserving groups.

Her Excellency stressed that this step aims to enhance the spirit of initiative among community members to develop their skills and invest their capabilities in finding new economic opportunities to increase their income, and comes in response to the current economic and social results that require continuous and accurate updating of the program's structure to ensure the efficient distribution of its financial resources in a transparent manner so that they include all components of inflation allowances, including the fuel allowance, food allowance, and electricity and water allowance.

Her Excellency Al Mazrouei stressed that extending the inflation allowance program reflects the vision of the UAE leadership and its keenness to achieve living stability for all citizens, as Her Excellency said that "this initiative embodies the UAE's continued keenness to empower society and citizens to face changing economic challenges, and we are working in the Ministry of Community Empowerment in cooperation with our partners on the comprehensive development of the inflation allowance program to ensure optimal benefit and in line with national priorities."

Her Excellency explained that the main goal of this thoughtful extension is to ensure that support reaches the deserving groups, reflecting the government's commitment to achieving living balance and improving the quality of life of citizens.

She added that the extension of the Inflation Allowance Program will include an assessment of the program's social and economic impact, in addition to developing more comprehensive and flexible criteria to meet the changing needs of society.

Her Excellency indicated that the study will take into account accurate data and a comprehensive analysis of inflation indicators, economic data, and household income and spending levels, as this step aims to raise the efficiency and transparency of the program in order to achieve the maximum benefit for the Emirati community, adding that the budget allocated for this extension highlights the state's keenness to continue providing support to beneficiaries through the Inflation Allowance Program.

It is worth noting that the UAE launched the Inflation Allowance Program in 2022 as part of a comprehensive social support system aimed at mitigating the effects of global inflation on the most deserving Emirati families. The program provides temporary and variable support, rather than fixed, and is disbursed on a monthly basis, which enhances the ability of these citizens to cope with the rising cost of living.
