There are inherited customs and traditions that some Emiratis are keen on, especially in marriage procedures and wedding parties, and they insist that they be as they were in ancient times except for some minor changes, including exaggeration in dowries, and sometimes holding weddings in hotels and the participation of singers in reviving them, which are some aspects of development.

When the date of the marriage contract and wedding is set, the bride goes to buy the clothes, gold and perfumes she needs, which is known as the "bride's jewelry", which is usually Al-Mazariyah, Al-Makhawir, Kaf Al-Hiwar, and Bustan Al-Yahli, and also Abu Naira, and from Chinese silk, Abu Taira, Abu Qalam Al-Sayya, Al-Sultani, Abu Badla and Al-Mukhour, and Abu Tasea, and from clothes, Abu Qafas, Al-Dagh, Abu Taira Al-Rafi', Al-Bosim, and Al-Sawari, in addition to ten trousers of different colors, in addition to the Shayla, including the Indian Nile, the Black, Abu Qafas and Al-Maida, and the Rafi'a clothes.

The abaya has different types, including the Suwayya, Umm Al-Khudood, and the light or thick Umm Al-Talaij. The bride's family asks for a period of time that may be two months to prepare, during which the bride is hidden from people's eyes for forty days. During this period, the bride wears clothes dyed with a mixture of roses, jasmine, cardamom and a bundle, and her body is smeared with indigo and wormwood.

Her family also begins preparing henna and dips it in henna every week (i.e., putting henna on the palm of the hand and the outside), and her hair is smeared with amber and jasmine and braided with roses, yas and mahlab. During this period, the girl eats the best foods, and her friends bring her daily meals to share in her joy.

Traditional clothing in the Emirates 

The dress depends on showing the customs and traditions in the United Arab Emirates, as the state is interested in showing the traditional dress that has been used since ancient times.

It is common in the Emirates for men to wear what is called the white dishdasha in all their clothes, as this color reflects the sun's rays and provides comfort for the wearer. In the event of a drop in temperature, their clothes can be worn in brown or gray.

Some men in the Emirates rely on wearing what is called the Kandora, which is a head covering with a headband, in addition to the presence of the Ghutra that helps cover the face when the sand and winds in the country are turning over.

Some women in the Emirates are interested in preserving their traditional dress that has been used since ancient times. We find women wearing a loose abaya and a long veil that covers their entire body, as well as older women covering their faces with what is called the burqa.

 Where the burqa is worn that covers the entire face except for the eyes, and there is also what is called the mask that covers the eye next to the face, with the necessity of being transparent and thin so that the woman can see clearly here, as the woman adheres to the ancient customs and traditions of the United Arab Emirates.

Emiratis and their Arab hospitality

One of the most prominent customs and traditions of the Emirates is its great reliance on offering dates and Arabic coffee to guests. These customs are inherited from ancient times by grandparents and fathers and cannot be neglected completely. 

Serving Arabic coffee is one of their most prominent hospitality customs, and therefore we find on the Emirati dirham a picture of a coffee pot, which is their official hot drink.

 Coffee pots can be served in the Emirates in many flavors, as saffron or cardamom can be added to it to give it a strong flavor and aroma. It is also served in cups and small cups with delicious dates.

 Emiratis are keen to serve the most delicious foods to guests, as their table is famous for Makbous chicken, which is an authentic Emirati meal that has been around since ancient times and contains goat, camel and fish meat, along with rice.

The Emiratis are also famous for the Harees dish, which is a popular meal that is widely available in all homes. It is prepared by cooking meat with wheat and mixing it well with the addition of lemon juice to strengthen the flavor.
