Elephant attacks crowd at festival in Thailand ..

A raging elephant appeared, attacking tourists and trampling some of them at a festival in Thailand after being frightened by fireworks.

In an area crowded with shoppers and tourists, a terrified elephant trampled tourists and shoppers in Thailand, as attendees tried to avoid the raging elephant, while others rushed to help the injured. Rescue workers and police were able to quickly control the situation and calm the elephant.

The video showed the huge elephant colliding with several people and trampling them while the revelers scattered in a state of panic. Authorities in Thailand said that five people were injured and were immediately taken to hospital.

They indicated that the giant elephant, Plai Khun Thong, 10 years old, arrived at the festival grounds with his keeper, Sanja, 46 years old, to sell sugar cane to visitors in Nong Bua Lamphu province.
