Emirates National Schools joins the “Schools Chess” project

Emirates National Schools has joined the list of educational institutions and schools that have entered the project to spread chess in schools.
This step comes after the visit of a delegation from the Chess Federation to the Emirates National Schools, Dubai branch, which included Taryam Matar Taryam, President of the Federation, Abdul Karim Al Marzouqi, Secretary General of the Federation, Mohammed Abdullah, Technical Director of the Federation, and the team working on the project to spread the game in the country’s schools.

They were received by Ahmed Al Bastaki, Deputy Director General of Emirates National Schools, Fadhil Al Ahmed, Regional Director of the Northern Emirates, and Aisha Al Shehhi, Coordinator of Curricular Activities in the Central Administration. Emirates National Schools include more than 13,000 male and female students at various levels.
Taryam Matar Taryam expressed his happiness at signing an agreement with Emirates National Schools, stressing that it is one of the great gains in the schools project; because it includes a large number of students and a fertile environment for discovering talents, pointing out that the goal is to spread the game of smarts in schools, and establish chess clubs for students.
He added, "The main goal of our project is to include the largest number of schools, and for the project to extend to include all schools across the country. We have succeeded in achieving great leaps, and we hope to achieve the goal of spreading in a short period, especially since there is a great response from schools, as well as the desire to establish their own clubs. We have witnessed requests from schools that exceeded 53 schools to establish chess clubs in the past period."
Taryam Matar Taryam thanked all the parties supporting the project, and the management of the Emirates National Schools for their response, and their approval to join the group of schools that have joined the game.
Conclusion of Al Kharaitiyat Chess Club Championship for Government Primary Schools
At the same time, the Chess Federation concluded the Al Kharaitiyat Chess Club Championship for government primary schools, within the framework of the partnership between the Federation and the Ministries of Sports and Youth, and Education and Higher Education, where the championship witnessed the participation of 180 male and female players representing 20 schools.

The event witnessed the organization of 3 championships for government schools for boys, and a championship for government schools for girls.
In the Chess Championship for Government Schools - Boys at the individual level, player Hamza Alaa El-Din from Abdullah Bin Turki Elementary School won first place, while player Hassan Al-Sharqawi from Jaber Bin Hayyan School came in second place, and player Omar Shadi Abdul Karim from Saad Bin Muadh School won third place. In the Chess Championship for Government Schools for Girls, player Asmaa Al-Hammadi from Al-Bayan Elementary School won first place.
