Global Village Celebrates Emirati Children's Day

The Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center organized a celebration to mark Emirati Children's Day in cooperation with the Dubai Police General Command, the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, and the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood at the Heritage Village in Dubai's Global Village.

The celebration, which began with the UAE national anthem, included several segments, including a speech by Mr. Saeed Al Awadhi at the UAE Children's Parliament at the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, a performance by the Dubai Police Children's Music Band, and the participation of Safety Ambassadors who presented the objectives of this initiative by Dubai Police and the activities they undertake to promote and disseminate a culture of children's rights, raise awareness of this issue, and prepare children for the future. The celebration also included a dialogue session titled "The Role of the Family in Child Protection," as well as activities and competitions for children.
In his speech during the celebration, Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Criminal Police at the Ministry of Interior, praised the vision of the UAE's wise leadership in prioritizing children so they can enjoy and grow up in a safe environment that protects their future and shapes their bright future.

He added, "Based on this fundamental principle, we at the Ministry of Interior work within a comprehensive, integrated framework to enhance and ensure child protection, enabling children to grow up in a healthy, safe, and supportive environment that develops their capabilities and skills, benefiting the UAE community."
Brigadier Saeed Abdullah Al Suwaidi emphasized the continued integration of efforts and the participation of relevant authorities to enhance the gains that protect children and guarantee their rights in all aspects. The UAE is a model in protecting children's rights and ensuring their protection from risks, making its experience in this field an example to be emulated globally.
A panel discussion was held during the event, moderated by media personality Fahad Heikal. Major Rashid Nasser Al Ali, Head of the Child Protection Section at the Department of Child and Women's Rights Protection at the General Department of Human Rights at Dubai Police, social worker Shama Al Balushi from the Ministry of Interior's Child Protection Center, and Anoud Al Balushi, Director of Events at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, participated in the session. The speakers addressed the UAE's efforts, under the vision of its wise leadership, to foster a nurturing and supportive environment for children, as well as the role of relevant authorities in achieving the UAE's strategic objectives and vision in these areas. They also discussed a number of pioneering UAE initiatives in the field of child protection and its projects that promote a safe community and digital environment, and the role of the family in protecting children based on shared responsibility.
