Hezza bin Zayed reviews efforts to develop and sustain the endowment sector in Al Ain region

His Highness Sheikh Hezza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, today received a delegation from the Awqaf and Minors' Funds Administration Authority (Awqaf Abu Dhabi), headed by His Excellency Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed, Chairman of the Authority, at the Court of the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Excellency Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of the Authority, and a number of senior officials in the endowment sector.


During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the strategy of "Awqaf Abu Dhabi", which aims to maximize the economic and social impact of endowments, by stimulating investment in endowment assets and directing them towards developing sustainable development initiatives and projects that contribute to achieving a positive impact, which benefits members of society in various vital sectors, and enhances the role of "Awqaf Abu Dhabi" in consolidating the values ​​and culture of giving and generosity that characterize the Emirati society, and transferring this legacy to future generations.


His Highness Sheikh Hezza bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, "may God protect him", pays great attention to supporting the endowment sector, which effectively contributes to supporting comprehensive and sustainable social and economic development efforts, through establishing vital projects and launching community initiatives and qualitative plans that contribute to achieving development targets to continue improving the quality of life.


For his part, His Excellency Abdul Hamid Mohammed Saeed explained that "Abu Dhabi Endowments" works according to strategic objectives that keep pace with the announcement of His Highness the President of the State, "may God protect him", of 2025 as the "Year of the Community", under the slogan "Hand in Hand", as the Authority seeks to achieve its goals by developing innovative investment strategies that achieve a balance between financial returns and societal impact, in line with national priorities and sustainable development goals.


His Excellency pointed out that endowments, which have always been one of the most important tools for social and economic development in the UAE, have today become a main pillar for supporting charitable initiatives, by developing new models for sustainable investment in line with the best international practices.


For his part, His Excellency Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim stressed that "Abu Dhabi Endowments" continues to work on attracting more investments to the endowment sector, ensuring sustainable returns used to finance community projects, enhance job opportunities, and support entrepreneurship in the Al Ain region. His Excellency pointed out the importance of integrating endowments into urban development plans, allowing the use of endowment lands in an innovative way that enhances economic development and preserves the cultural and heritage identity of the Al Ain region, which is considered one of the pioneering areas in the community endowment model.
