His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, inspected this morning, Monday, a number of projects being implemented in Kalba City as part of a series of tourism, environmental and entertainment projects that characterize the city.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah's tour included:
Arabian Leopard Sanctuary Project
Al Hayar Rest House Project
Al Hayar Lake Project
The Arabian Leopard Sanctuary Project will include vast natural areas capable of accommodating up to dozens of Arabian leopards, with strategic viewing points that allow visitors to see the Arabian leopard in its natural environment.
The project, which is located on a chain of Al Hafiya Mountains in Kalba City, has a total area of up to 40 hectares and provides wonderful views of the mountains, Kalba City and the Gulf of Oman, enabling visitors to walk around the outer perimeter of the sanctuary to enjoy the best views of the Arabian leopard, in addition to shaded paths leading to an area with natural waters where birds and other wildlife can be seen.

The reserve project includes a welcoming viewing platform and a restaurant overlooking the Arabian leopard feeding areas and water ponds, allowing visitors to see these majestic animals up close in their natural habitat, in addition to a group of service projects including animal care buildings and other buildings designated for visitors, including educational, tourist and recreational buildings.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah inspected the Al Hayar Rest House project, which will serve users of the Sharjah-Kalba Road of all categories. The rest house will consist of 130 diverse shops, with an outdoor area to display commercial products, a shaded walkway and nearby parking.
Al Hayar Rest House will include a group of services and facilities, including a children's play area, an outdoor theater, an animal farm, nurseries, a horse riding area, an open space and a multi-use canopy with more than 400 parking spaces.

His Highness was briefed on the stages of completion of the Al Hayar Lake project, which will consist of four main lakes, and rest areas equipped with integrated facilities including a barbecue area to provide an entertaining experience for families and visitors, a children's play area to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for children, and public facilities including toilets and other services to ensure the comfort of users, in addition to 30 parking spaces for single trailers, with 60 parking spaces for trailers with the rest area.

The "Arabian Leopard Conservation Strategy" conference, organized by the Environment and Protected Areas Authority at Sharjah Safari, concluded its work last October, discussing ways to address the urgent challenges facing the Arabian leopard, which is an endangered animal, and setting a cooperative framework to ensure its continuity.
