Launch of the Arts Week at the Oman Museum Through Time

The activities of the Arts Week, organized by the museum in cooperation with the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, Al Buraimi University and the Scientific College of Design, were launched this morning at the Oman Museum Through Time, as part of its cultural programs and events held in cooperation with a number of governmental and private entities.

The museum seeks to promote culture and arts in society, in addition to activating art as a means of expressing the Omani cultural identity. And encouraging new generations to explore and develop various fields of arts. The week includes many training programs in various fields of arts, in addition to specialized guided tours and direct communication with a group of artists. The events will continue for five days.

Eng. Al-Yaqzan Al-Harthi, Director General of the Oman Museum Through Time, said: "The Arts Week is part of the programs and events held by the museum in cooperation with a number of governmental and private entities, and targets children, youth and those interested in the field of arts. It is an experience that enhances inspiration and provides new ways for generations to communicate with their cultural identity through art."

He added: "The Arts Week includes several programs, most notably the (Art Tells Our Story) program, which specializes in drawing, the (Journey into the World of Pottery) program for drawing on pottery pieces, the (Modern Creativity Next to the Authenticity of the Past) program, to train participants in forming and decorating pottery, the (We Tell Our Story with the First Settlers) program to introduce the art of writing short stories, the (Behind the Lens... Identity and Heritage) program, the (Drawing Omani Characters with Digital Art) program, the (Art Marketing) program, the (Performance Art on Stage) program, and the (Hero on Stage) program."

These events will be presented by specialists from the Oman Museum Through Time, the Public Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, private universities and colleges, and theater directors and actors. The events will be held in the Arts Corridor, the Lecture Hall, the Innovation Lab, and the Ideas Lab.
