A strange incident occurred in the Turkish city of Manavgat, where a Greek man named "Hassan" backed down from his suicide attempt after the police offered him a shawarma sandwich.

Hassan threatened to set himself on fire while standing on the roof of a five-story building. The police arrived and began negotiating with him to try to dissuade him from his decision.
According to the story documented by several accounts interested in covering Turkish news on social media platforms, including Daily Turkic, the man admitted during his negotiations with the police that he was feeling hungry, which prompted one of the officers to offer him a shawarma sandwich, and as soon as he got the food, Hassan gave up his intention to end his life.
The circulating news confirmed that this was not the Greek man's first suicide attempt, as he had tried 233 times before for various reasons.
