Opening of Al Amerat Heights Health Complex Project in Muscat Governorate

The Ministry of Health celebrated today (Monday) the opening of the Al Amerat Heights Health Complex Project in Muscat Governorate within the framework of the Sultanate of Oman's commitment to strengthening the sustainable health system and achieving community well-being, and keeping pace with the continuous growth in demand for health services; with a generous donation from a citizen and under the supervision of the Endowment Health Foundation (Athar).

The celebration, sponsored by His Excellency Ahmed bin Saleh Al Rashdi - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs, began with a speech by Dr. Samira Al Maimani, in which she explained the continuous development witnessed by the health care sector in the Sultanate of Oman, and that the opening of the complex will enhance the position of Muscat Governorate as a leading center in providing health care; as it comes within the efforts aimed at providing high-quality health services that meet the needs of citizens and residents alike, and represents an important step towards achieving the goals of Oman Vision 2040, which aims to build a sustainable health system that enhances the quality of life and raises the level of health care.

Al-Maymaniya explained in her speech that the complex does not only provide treatment services, but also enhances prevention and health awareness, which contributes to improving the health of the community in general.


The opening ceremony included an introductory tour of the complex's departments, where attendees learned about the modern facilities such as the various services provided by the complex. The ceremony's sponsor and attendees watched a visual presentation explaining the project's implementation stages and the services it will provide to the community in the near future.

The Al-Amerat Heights Health Complex provides a range of integrated services in primary health care, including general medicine clinics, the expanded immunization program, in addition to a range of specialized clinics such as the chronic diseases clinic, the blood pressure and diabetes clinic, and the asthma clinic.


The complex also includes special clinics for pregnant women, the early detection program for non-communicable diseases, breast cancer screening, elderly screening, and a smoking cessation clinic.


As for specialized care, the complex includes a group of specialized secondary clinics such as the internal medicine clinic, the pediatric clinic, the ear, nose and throat clinic, the ophthalmology clinic, the laboratory, the pharmacy, two examination rooms, a meeting and training hall, and a computer control room. The complex includes 19 beds that can be increased, distributed across the various clinics in the complex.

It is worth noting that the construction process of the complex took 16 months, on a building area of ​​15,000 square meters, at a total cost of approximately 750,000 Omani riyals. This complex is a qualitative addition to the healthcare system, and reflects the government's ongoing efforts to provide integrated healthcare at high quality levels.


The celebration was attended by His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Salem Al Mandhari - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Health Planning and Regulation, Dr. Samira bint Musa Al Maimani - Acting Director General of Health Services in Muscat Governorate, Their Excellencies the members of the Shura Council, the Wali of the Wilayat, in addition to a number of officials in the Ministry of Health and directors of the relevant authorities
