Workshop discusses 12 security standards for Etihad Rail

A workshop was held in Dubai to discuss topics of common interest for the security of Etihad Rail projects, with the participation of 81 experts and specialists from 19 federal, local and private entities.

His Excellency Major General Obaid Saeed Al Hathboor, Director of the Dubai Transport Security Department, opened the workshop, which was held at the department’s headquarters in the Hamdan Smart Simulation and Training Station, where he stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation between the relevant authorities to ensure the security and safety of the national company’s projects, praising the efforts made to develop security procedures.

Colonel Hamoud Mohammed Al Marzouqi, Director of the Etihad Rail Security File in Dubai, gave a presentation on the history of the Transport Security Department since its establishment by decree in 2008, and the importance of unifying security visions to achieve leadership in global security indicators.
The workshop addressed unifying visions and coordinating efforts within 12 security standards: security and safety of public movement, safe structural and architectural design, safe operating measures, protection of the safety zone, protection of crossings, bridges and tunnels, prevention of the dangers of air depressions, smart security cameras, electronic and cyber security, and linking operational systems with security partners.
