Mr. Wesam Lootah, Director General of the Digital Government - Department of Government Empowerment, announced that the agreement between the Abu Dhabi government, Microsoft, and G42 establishes a new phase in the digital transformation journey and represents an inevitable step toward adopting the sovereign cloud in the emirate's digital government. This supports the implementation of the Abu Dhabi Digital Government Strategy 2025-2027, by establishing a unified sovereign cloud computing system that will have a significant impact on improving the delivery of government services to members of the community and the business sector, and enhancing the efficiency of operational and production processes, government performance, and environmental sustainability.

He added that with the implementation of this joint sovereign cloud system, we will have the capacity to process more than 11 million digital transactions daily between government entities, citizens, residents, and businesses.

In a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM), Mr. Lootah explained that the agreement aligns with the Abu Dhabi government's efforts to become the first government in the world to fully rely on artificial intelligence by 2027. Abu Dhabi aims to automate 100% of its government operations by 2027, supported by a AED 13 billion investment in digital infrastructure.

This partnership represents a strategic opportunity that supports the Abu Dhabi Digital Government Strategy 2025-2027, during which more than 200 AI-powered solutions will be implemented to improve government service delivery and enhance productivity and operational processes. This is evident in the launch of the "Tamm" platform, the unified government platform, which has contributed to a 90% reduction in customer visits and made more than 73% of transactions instant and proactive.

He stated that this strategic partnership between the three parties will enable Abu Dhabi government entities and the digital government to maintain data sovereignty and build a robust, future-ready digital infrastructure that supports the adoption of artificial intelligence and automation across various government entities, fosters a culture of innovation, and presents a new global model for the government of the future.
