Crowning the winners of the Dubai Duty Free Men’s Open

His Highness Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Tennis Federation, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crowned Stefanos Tsitsipas, winner of the 33rd Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships - one of the ATP 500 tournaments - in the singles competition category, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, at the awards ceremony held on the center court of the Dubai Tennis Stadium, affiliated with Dubai Duty Free, to conclude a week full of strong competition and outstanding performances.

Tsitsipas succeeded in winning the men's championship cup in the final match held in the presence of a large audience this evening, where he defeated his competitor Felix Auger-Aliassime with a score of (6-3, 6-3).

The final day was attended by Ramesh Cidambi, General Manager of Dubai Duty Free and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, Nasser Yousef Al Marzooqi, Secretary General of the UAE Tennis Federation, Salah Tahlak, Tournament Director of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Open and Deputy General Manager of Dubai Duty Free, and Sinead El Sebaei, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Dubai Duty Free.

The current edition of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which is one of the most prominent international sporting events hosted by Dubai, witnessed strong matches between the world’s best tennis players in the singles and doubles categories, competing over a week for the title.


On the other hand, players Yuki Bhambri and Alexei Popyrin achieved a victory over Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten on the center court in the doubles final with a score of (3-6, 7-6, 10-8) amidst great cheers from the crowd.


The Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships continues to attract the best players every year, with the WTA 1000 and the ATP 500 tournaments being hugely popular on the World Tour calendar, said Cidambi, adding that the tournament has seen great performances, exciting matches and an exciting atmosphere that has made the 33rd edition truly special.


He thanked the players and ATP officials for a great week and looked forward to welcoming them back next year.


Salah Tahlak congratulated the winners and said that it had been a great week of men’s tennis, thanking the media and fans for creating such a great atmosphere throughout the week and everyone who worked behind the scenes to ensure the success of this tournament.
