February is Innovation Month in the UAE.. 10 Years of Creativity

Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, stressed that the UAE, under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, has transformed innovation from a theoretical concept into practical applications that have advanced government work and enhanced the country's competitiveness and global leadership. It has also consolidated the quality of life of society and motivated its individuals and private sector institutions to participate in designing innovative solutions to future challenges and transformative projects for vital sectors.

This came on the occasion of the launch of the activities of the tenth edition of the UAE Innovation Month, today, saying: The month reflects the vision of the leadership and embodies its directions to make the people in the UAE the focus of every development effort in various fields.

The month represents an exceptional national occasion that highlights a decade of innovation in the UAE, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation.

The activities of "UAE Innovates 2025" continue in the emirates of the country throughout February, and witness hundreds of activities and events that conclude with the "UAE Innovates" exhibition, which highlights the innovations that have made a positive difference in government work and society over the past 10 years.

Huda Al Hashimi, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, stressed that the UAE Innovation Month has been an open platform over the past 10 years to promote and instill a culture of innovation in the government and society, and has transformed over the years from a national event to celebrate innovation into an environment for developing innovations and transforming ideas into transformative projects, focusing on improving the efficiency of the government and private sectors, and enhancing the quality of life in society.

She appreciated the major role of the executive councils in the emirates of the country, and their active participation in enhancing the journey of the UAE Innovation Month over the past 10 years since its launch, which reflects the team spirit and integration in government work aimed at advancing national projects and enhancing their impact on government work and society.

She added that adopting "The Power of Innovation" as the main slogan for the "Emirates Innovates 2025" events reflects the UAE government's approach to sustaining and promoting innovation in various fields of work, and translates a future leadership vision that has made innovation a distinctive identity for government work in the UAE, calling on government agencies, private sector institutions and the community to actively participate in celebrating innovation in the country, and what it represents as an engine, driving force and accelerator for building the future.

The Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman announced the completion of its preparations to receive Innovation Month 2025, which includes an integrated plan to launch smart projects and advanced programs based on artificial intelligence and modern technologies.

The Director General of the Department, Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, confirmed that the national competencies in the department are working in the spirit of innovation to provide qualitative solutions that contribute to improving services and enhancing the quality of life.

For her part, Dr. Sheikha Noura Al Nuaimi, Innovation Advisor, stated that the municipalities of Masfout and Manama and all sectors of the department are working to design and develop innovative future initiatives and projects, with the aim of anticipating challenges and providing creative solutions that support sustainable development and social transformations in various fields.

"Identity and Citizenship" reviews its most prominent projects

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, during its participation in the activities of the new session of the "UAE Innovates 2025" month, reviews a number of the most prominent innovative projects and initiatives in the fields of identity, citizenship, residency, travel and proactive services.

It also organizes events, workshops and brainstorming sessions to consolidate the culture of innovation in the work environment and among members of society.

The Director General of the Authority, Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, said that the "UAE Innovates 2025" month is an opportunity to highlight the creativity of the Authority's national cadres and highlight their capabilities and achievements in the field of innovation in developing operations and services, in a way that meets the aspirations of customers and enhances the country's leadership.

He stressed that innovation represents a strategic direction, goal and culture in the work environment at the Authority, and is a fundamental component of providing proactive services to customers. The Authority’s continuous keenness to involve customers and partners in designing and developing services and eliminating government bureaucracy has contributed to achieving this goal, as well as the rapid development in technology, the artificial intelligence revolution and the Internet of Things, which have become a major tool in developing government services and eliminating bureaucracy.

The Authority’s participation includes displaying a number of innovative projects, including the Smart Travel Project, the Institutional Connectivity Services Project, the Vein Your Identity Project, the Emirates Passenger Expressway Project, the Face ID Project, in addition to the Authority’s Services 2.0 Project.

This month concludes in Dubai with major events, the most important of which is the “Emirates Innovates Exhibition”, which highlights innovations that have made a positive difference in government work and society over the past ten years, in addition to a scientific event aimed at promoting a culture of innovation in the field of medical care.

The new cycle features the highest value of financial support for projects since the launch of the program, as it will provide four projects with the opportunity to win a total of AED 200,000, in addition to the opportunity to join the accelerator program of the Mohammed bin Rashid Innovation Fund.

The award is distributed as follows: AED 80,000 for first place, AED 60,000 for second place, and AED 40,000 for third place, while the winner of the special category award for the best sustainable design, best use of emerging technologies, and most influential solutions in society will receive AED 20,000. The closing ceremony of “Emirates Innovates” will be held on February 26, and will witness the honoring of the winners of the Emirates Innovates 2025 Award, honoring partners and contributors to the success of the Emirates Innovation Month, and celebrating innovative models and experiences that have had a positive impact on the UAE community.
