His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, visited today, Friday, the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence in Masdar City in Abu Dhabi.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, reviewed the academic programs offered by the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, the most prominent research fields it focuses on, and the capabilities it provides to students, in addition to its partnerships with global institutions specializing in artificial intelligence studies.

His Highness also visited the university's data observatory, where researchers and faculty members presented five research projects in the field of artificial intelligence related to energy and climate, in addition to the fields of medicine, genetics, media, and "robots", in addition to two emerging companies from the university's Incubation and Entrepreneurship Center.

During the tour, His Highness the President of the State met with Professor Eric Xing, President of the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, and a number of members of the administrative and teaching staff, in addition to a number of graduate students, urging them to persevere and exert more effort in acquiring knowledge that will serve their countries and communities.

His Highness stressed that the university is an important tributary that enhances the state's development vision regarding investment in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technology and preparing specialized national cadres in this vital field, in addition to establishing the foundations of a diversified knowledge-based economy, foremost of which is artificial intelligence, and ensuring its sustainability for present and future generations.

His Highness expressed his hope that the university will contribute to building a scientific base of specialized research and studies in artificial intelligence and the future of this field.

His Highness also expressed his thanks to all those in charge of the university and its cadres and wished them continued success.

For his part, Professor Eric Xing said: “The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence has achieved significant achievements since its establishment, ranking tenth globally in the field of artificial intelligence, computer vision, machine learning, natural language processing, robotics, and computational biology, praising the continuous support the university receives from the country’s leadership.”

His Highness was accompanied during the tour by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State; His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority; His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, and a number of senior officials.
