His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak attended the crowning ceremony of the winners of the first edition of the “Our Heritage in Words” competition, organized by the National Fund at the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities in Abu Dhabi.

His Highness delivered a speech in which he stressed that celebrating the achievements of the National Identity Clubs in schools, colleges and universities and the winners of the “Our Heritage in Words” creative writing competition organized by these clubs as part of their role in deepening pride in the national identity and making it an important area for creativity, innovation and initiative, represents a living embodiment of the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, which was represented in His Highness’s saying: “We want the world to see our pride in our authentic identity, and for the values ​​​​established in our society to be a continuing title for us.”


His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak stressed that the National Identity Clubs are part of the “National Identity Pioneers” programme organised by the National Fund in all parts of the country, with the aim of enabling individuals and groups of society to be a positive force that contributes to affirming pride in the values ​​and principles that constitute the identity of the sons and daughters of the Emirates, among the youth and young people, among families, in all institutions and local communities, and throughout the country, stressing that the National Fund believes that this programme and the related National Identity Clubs are an expression of our confidence in the nation and our pride in its immortal past, its happy present and the bright future that awaits it, thanks to the efforts of its sons and daughters.


For her part, Sarah Awad Issa Muslim explained that the UAE is currently witnessing a comprehensive renaissance in the field of education, and improving its quality in its various fields, and across all educational stages, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, who is keen for the Emirati student to receive the highest possible educational quality, so that he can face challenges and build the future.

Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan honored the winners from university students in the branches of poetry and short stories, and from school students in the field of short stories.


The first place in the literary competition for school students was won by Jana Al Akash, from Abu Dhabi International Private School, the second place was won by Sheikha Al Shamsi, from Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Educational Complex, Applied Technology Schools, and the third place was won by Nouf Al Balushi, from Tahnoon Bin Mohammed Educational Complex. The first place in the short story category for university students was won by Maha Abdul Rahman, from Zayed University, the second place was won by Sheikha Al Nuaimi, from the Colleges of Technology in Al Ain, and the third place was won by Jamila Al Darei, from Mohammed Bin Zayed University. The first place in the poetry category was won by Andy Fat Jing, from Mohammed Bin Zayed University, the second place was won by Mona Al Bashir Ahmed, from Mohammed Bin Zayed University, and the third place was won by Aisha Al Riyami, from the Colleges of Technology in Al Ain.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Ms. Sarah Awad Issa Musallam, Minister of State for Early Childhood Education, Chairperson of the Federal Early Childhood Education Authority, Chairperson of the Department of Education and Knowledge - Abu Dhabi, a number of presidents and directors of Emirati and international universities, directors of public and private schools, members of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, in addition to supervisors and members of the National Identity Clubs in schools and universities, Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Director of the Mohammed bin Zayed University for Humanities, Dr. Khalid Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology in Sharjah, and Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan.
