The new generation of “M-Detector” vessel includes advanced autonomous control systems and mine countermeasure technology, in addition to integrated sensors provided through a strategic partnership between EDGE, ADSB, the Technology Innovation Institute and Xcel.

The vessel’s systems are designed to carry out a comprehensive range of mine countermeasure operations, and will simplify the scanning, detection, classification and neutralization of subsea mines with unparalleled accuracy and efficiency, greatly enhancing the defensive capabilities of naval forces.

Building on the successful launch of the 170M-Detector, the partners will begin the second phase of the naval programme, which will see the joint development of the next generation Inspector 125 by ADSB and Xcel in the UAE, which will be equipped with an autonomous control system and towed sonar by the Technology Innovation Institute. This achievement represents a significant advance in the joint commitment of these entities to develop fully autonomous modular platforms that can perform complex maritime missions with minimal human intervention, cementing the UAE’s position as a global leader in autonomous maritime defence solutions.
