Microsoft reveals a security vulnerability in the 24H2 update for Windows 11

Microsoft explained that the problem was identified on December 24, 2024, as it arises when using physical media to download updates, which leads to the creation of security vulnerabilities that hackers may exploit.
However, the American company confirmed that systems that receive updates directly through its official channels, such as Windows Update or the Microsoft Update Catalog, are not affected by this problem.
The reports indicated that in order to reduce the risks resulting from this security vulnerability, Microsoft has provided several recommendations to users to ensure the protection of their devices.

These recommendations included the following:
Avoid using affected physical media: The company advised users not to install the Windows 11 version using media containing security updates for October or November 2024, as these media may contain the aforementioned vulnerability.
Use updated installation media: Microsoft called on users to create new installation media that includes the security update issued on December 10, 2024, or any later updates. It stressed that using updated media ensures reducing the possibility of being exposed to security threats.
Reinstalling affected systems: For users who have already installed the affected version using
Microsoft stressed the importance of adhering to these guidelines, to ensure that systems are protected from cyber attacks that may arise from this vulnerability.
The reports added that the American company is constantly working to improve the security of its systems, by issuing periodic updates, to confront any potential threats.
According to technical reports, this version may make devices more vulnerable to cyber attacks, if it is installed using physical storage media, such as CDs, or USB flash drives.
