Saudi Arabia is introducing an advanced technology called "Flying Fish" for underwater scanning, aimed at preserving coral reefs, sea turtles, and the broader marine environment in the Red Sea. This innovative technique addresses the limitations of human diving by using automated diving devices that cover wider and deeper areas and return to the launch boat. With a coastline of approximately 2,000 kilometers, Saudi Arabia owns 80% of the eastern Red Sea coast, home to 310 coral species, including 270 hard coral species and 40 soft coral species. At the First International Conference on Turtle Conservation in the Red Sea in Jeddah, Suwailem highlighted plans to collaborate with Red Sea nations to preserve the region and explore new islands and areas.
