The 10th Gulf Sports Tournament concludes at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex

In an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and excitement, the 10th Sports Tournament for students of universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries concluded today at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bousher

under the patronage of His Excellency Sayyid Saud bin Hilal Al Busaidi, Governor of Muscat, in the presence of His Highness Sayyid Dr. Fahd bin Al Julanda Al Said, President of the University, members of the main organizing committee of the tournament and heads of delegations of participating universities and higher education institutions.

The University of Technology and Applied Sciences was deservedly crowned with the gold medal in football, with honoring the winning teams in all participating games.

The tournament, which lasted from January 18 to 24, included a group of sports, such as athletics, swimming, football, basketball (3x3), volleyball, badminton and table tennis. Nearly 500 students from Gulf universities and higher education institutions participated in it.

This event reflects the sporting spirit and Gulf brotherhood, and highlights the youth’s abilities to achieve accomplishments and provide exceptional levels. The tournament represented an opportunity to enhance cooperation between educational and sports institutions on the one hand, and to strengthen fraternal ties between students in the Arab Gulf states and exchange experiences between them.
