UAE National Team Wins Arab Rugby Cup

The UAE men's team won the Arab Rugby Sevens Championship in its tenth edition, which was organized by the Arab Rugby Federation in cooperation with the Egyptian Federation in Alexandria and concluded today.

The UAE national team succeeded in defeating its Moroccan counterpart with a score of 14-7 to win the championship cup and gold medals, while the Moroccan team came in second place and won the silver medals, while the Egyptian team came in third place after defeating the Libyan team 17-0 to win the bronze medal.

In the women's competition, the UAE national team won the bronze medal after defeating Lebanon 27-7 in the third-place match, while the Tunisian team won the gold medal after defeating its Egyptian counterpart, who won the silver medal with a score of 38-0, so the UAE champions achieved a distinguished achievement by collecting the men's gold medal and the women's bronze medal in the championship that witnessed the participation of 16 teams, including 10 men's teams and 6 women's teams.

Following the final match, Qais Al Dhalai, President of the Arab and Asian Rugby Federations, crowned the champions in the presence of Hossam Saheb, President of the Egyptian Rugby Federation, along with a number of heads of Arab federations and sports figures.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Rugby Federation, expressed his pride in this achievement, noting that the continuous support of the wise leadership played the biggest role in achieving these successes. He stressed that the national team regained its Arab leadership, while the women's team continued to excel by ascending to the podium, reflecting the great efforts made by the work teams in the Federation, the technical and administrative bodies, and the players, both male and female.
