His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr: Developing national competencies and building generations capable of keeping pace with the future

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, stressed that developing academic education is a fundamental pillar of the vision of the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, to continue its comprehensive development path, build a better tomorrow for future generations, and achieve the goals of the UAE and its strategic plans towards prosperity.

This came during His Highness’s reception yesterday of the members of the Advisory Board of Ras Al Khaimah University of Medicine and Health Sciences, at his palace in Saqr bin Mohammed City, in the presence of Salem Al Sharhan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Yasser Al Nuaimi, Member of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Ismail Matalqa, President of the University.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah “We seek in Ras Al Khaimah to provide an educational environment, according to the highest international standards, with the aim of developing national competencies and contributing to building generations capable of keeping pace with the requirements of technological progress and future transformations, and continuing the path of success at the level of the emirate.”

During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the academic initiatives and scientific research, the university's efforts in integrating technology and innovation, and establishing national and international partnerships that have contributed to strengthening its position as one of the prestigious academic institutions that provide distinguished health education that supports the labor market with distinguished cadres including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and dentists, with a high degree of efficiency and excellence, which has contributed to strengthening the university's position, locally and regionally.

During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the university's programs and achievements, its expansion in educational and research programs, and its establishment of a new center for developing the health workforce, in support of health care at the state and regional levels, in addition to its future plans, during the next stage.

His Highness also exchanged talks with the members on a number of topics related to academic development in the medical field, in line with the emirate's renaissance and progress.

For their part, the members of the University’s Advisory Council expressed their deep thanks and appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah for his great support and unlimited interest in developing the university and higher education, based on his belief in the role of education in the renaissance and progress of nations.
