Sandooq Al Watan concludes the “Emirati Programmer” competition

Sandooq Al Watan concluded the final competitions of the “Emirati Programmer” initiative, which it organizes in cooperation with the Al Dar Educational Foundation, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, Chairman of Sandooq Al Watan.

The closing ceremony of the competitions was attended by 1,407 participating students, a number of educational leaders and parents, and 83 schools from the Emirates participated in it.


The Emirati Programmer initiative aims to enable Emirati school students to unleash their capabilities in the fields of modern technology in programming and robotics, after fully developing it and adding new fields to it, and changing the name of the initiative from “Programmer of the Fifty” to “Emirati Programmer”.


His Excellency Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, said that the great successes achieved by the initiative in its previous versions were an incentive to expand its fields to include all schools in the country, explaining that changing the name of the initiative from “Programmer of the Fifty” to “Emirati Programmer” came based on the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan; To enhance the national identity of the new generations, and consolidate the position of Emirati youth in the fields of programming and technology,


He stressed that adding artificial intelligence tools in the upcoming competitions enhances the learning experience and gives participants the opportunity to take on more advanced programming challenges, and enables youth to explore the latest technological trends, such as artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and robot programming using advanced programming languages ​​such as Swift and Python.
