The year 2024 was filled with important scientific discoveries that laid new foundations for human knowledge, thanks to the growth of artificial intelligence technologies in scientific research, so we will highlight the most prominent of them.

Capturing a 3D image of the human brain
Last May, researchers revealed a 3D image of a small piece of the human brain the size of half a grain of rice, containing about 16,000 neurons.
This achievement aims to better understand how the brain works, solve the mysteries of human mental illnesses, and improve artificial intelligence algorithms in this field.
New information about the origins of the solar system
Scientists were able to analyze part of the samples of the "Osiris-Rex" spacecraft that landed briefly on the "Bennu" asteroid.
The results of the analysis showed that the sun was formed as a result of the death of multiple stars, and not a single star as previously thought, in addition to the presence of samples that came from an ancient body that was geologically active, before it was destroyed.
Scientists also found in a sample a series of vital compounds, including all types of amino acids, in this primitive asteroid.

Oceans discovered on moons of the solar system
Scientists have found new evidence of other oceans throughout the outer solar system through the launch of NASA's Europa Clipper mission. Scientists have discovered that Saturn's moon Enceladus and Mimas and Uranus' moon Miranda all contain liquid oceans.
Hot Earth
Scientists have observed that the year 2024 has broken heat records, as the global average temperature exceeded 1.5 degrees Celsius above the pre-industrial average for the first time, according to the Al Jazeera Net website.
This year's high temperatures have caused coral reefs to bleach worldwide, as well as extreme weather events, such as severe hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico, and a rise in global carbon dioxide emissions after a relatively stable year in 2023.
Artificial Intelligence Wins Nobel Prize
The Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded to the artificial intelligence model developed by three researchers, called "AlphaFold 2 Alpha", a tool that has proven its ability to predict with amazing efficiency the structure of all 200 million proteins discovered to date, thus developing new drugs in the shortest possible time to save patients' lives.

The Moon Reveals More Secrets
A team of scientists has discovered evidence, based on samples of moon rocks brought back by the Chinese "Chang'e-6" mission, of the ongoing shrinkage of the moon, which has led to noticeable deformation of its surface in the South Pole region, believing that the crack caused by the moon's shrinkage is often accompanied by seismic activity such as moonquakes.
Quantum Computing
Google has expanded its advances in the capacity that ordinary computers store as “bits,” beyond the values 0 and 1, by binding 105 quantum bits into a chip called Willow.
